New Life and New Face for Fay

Fay Getting Ready for SurgeryFay, HSMO bust rescue and Mutts-n-Stuff Phoenix House spokesdog, came out of her first surgery this past Monday with something that had been literally ripped away from her… lips. The surgery went so well that Dr. Marcy was able to repair part ofย  Fay’s upper lip as well. Fay’s face had been so badly injured in fights that the men who forced her into the pits decided to add to that cruelty by cutting the rest of her torn lips off. Those men showed Fay the worst of humanity, but now Mutts-n-Stuff has been able to show her the best: love, comfort, compassion, healing. You can help us continue to show Fay the sunny side of life by donating to her medical care and healing. I can’t say it enough either… I so loved Fay’s kisses before and I hope that some day I’ll get to see her again and kiss her beautiful new face. ๐Ÿ™‚

Way to go Mutts for helping share the face of dogfighting and continuing to show people just how loving these dogs are even when they’ve been through this kind of hell. This is why I love the American Pit Bull Terrier so much!

  6. You guys are amazing!!!

  7. Good work!

Could you please explain how the surgery was done?

    • Roo,

Fay surgery technique is similar to a face lift. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am not a vet but from the explanation I received loose skin around her lip area was stretched, rolled, and then sutured in place. This technique ensured blood flow to the tissue. Biggest challenge to come is there the front of her face and part of her nose was cut away by the dogmen. There is no loose skin available under one’s nose. So we shall see what Dr. Marcy will have planned the surgery.

      Thank you for your support.

      • A *reverse* facelift. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks so much for the info. Fascinating stuff. I look forward to the updates.
